Tugende Together

The TuTo Junior School in Ibaako, Bugweri District, has made significant progress over the past months. With the completion of the fourth construction phase – carried out from June 18, 2025, to February 28, 2026 – a new three-classroom building and modern sanitation facilities have been finalized. This marks another important step toward providing high-quality, safe, and child-friendly education. This progress was only possible thanks to the generous support of our key partners: the State of Tyrol, Magdaman, and the Rotary Club Haag am Hausruck.

These contributions have made it possible to create a learning environment that meets both modern educational standards and essential health and social requirements. The new classrooms offer plenty of natural light, sufficient space, and a healthy indoor climate – all key factors for effective learning. The newly built sanitation facilities, including separate areas for girls and boys, washing facilities, and an accessible toilet, represent a major improvement. They not only enhance hygiene but also significantly strengthen participation, especially for girls and children with special needs.

The impact of these developments is already clearly visible: the school has seen an increase in student numbers from 158 to 230 children – a clear sign of growing trust within the community. Individual success stories, such as that of the student Leticia, further highlight how improved learning conditions boost motivation, safety, and academic performance.

Through the continuous support of our donors, children in a rural region of Uganda are given opportunities for a future that would otherwise remain out of reach. We would like to sincerely thank the State of Tyrol, Magdaman, and the Rotary Club Haag am Hausruck for their commitment and trust. Together, we are creating places of learning, hope, and sustainable change.

To highlight the successful completion of this construction phase, a press release, a newsletter contribution, and a news article will also be prepared, presenting the results, timeline, and impact of the project in greater detail.
